Join one of the foremost disease research foundations dedicated to improving the health and well-being of individuals and families affected by NF. CTF serves the NF community through cutting-edge research, expanding knowledge, and advancing care for the NF community.

CTF is the largest private donor of NF research, and conducts its own as well as fosters advancements through active partnerships with patients, scientists, research institutions and industry. It has a vibrant participant and donor community, and an ambitious research agenda, setting it apart from other disease research foundations. But the systems CTF relies on to serve its community of practitioners, partners and donors is not yet performing at its peak potential, keeping CTF from increasing its footprint, advancing its research agenda and moving the needle for NF research worldwide.

In this role, you’ll build out internal data systems for our organizing, fundraising and communication work, and provide strategic direction and management for data usage across all departments, platforms, and tactics.

About the Position

Maybe you’ve been a digital campaign organizer, a fundraiser in nonprofit development who got excited about rebuilding the donor database, a data journalist looking for something new, or a data scientist looking to do anything you can to help a friend or family member with NF.

We’re looking for a candidate who doesn’t just see fields in a database, but people and their stories. Note: You don’t have to be a data scientist (but if you are, our Research team would love to chat.)

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the design, implementation, and management of data for the Foundation;
  • Streamline the way we collect data and improve our use across the Foundation;
  • Design and implement new layouts within Salesforce to support colleagues across the major gifts, regional and gift processing teams;
  • Train colleagues across the organization (including several remote teams) on how to use these systems;
  • Support continuous efforts to improve data quality, integrity and trust, working with external vendors and IT to reduce duplication and strengthen how the Children’s Tumor Foundation captures, stores and uses data;
  • Responsible for data output including report creation, export configurations, data feeds, etc. in support of the organization’s marketing, fundraising, finance, and reporting needs;
  • Assist with monitoring/tracking of programs and services including reporting requirements, compliance, impact, and program evaluations;
  • Serve as CTF’s in-house data analyst and owner of Salesforce data integration, use and customization.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • At least two years managing and/or growing a data-driven application for an organization;
  • Experience doing data analysis, data entry, and/or database management;
  • Highly organized (you’ll be organizing data, after all) and detail oriented. You can manage several simultaneous projects with many moving parts;
  • A work style that is flexible, respectful, collaborative, and nimble; brings a commitment to maintaining a supportive, empowering work culture;
  • A clear communicator;
  • Positive and solution-oriented. we need people who can celebrate the great things we have, see the places we can improve, and come up with collaborative ways to solve problems.

This will set you apart:

If you’re coming in with one of these strengths, we can really help shape the job around you. You don’t need them all, so if you’re strong in one or even two, you can jump right in and start making a difference immediately.

  • Familiarity with the Salesforce.com ecosystem (or a similar offering like CiviCRM, NationBuilder, or RaisersEdge to name a few);
  • Background in user experience design and client relations;
  • Experience creating and running reports to support teams;
  • Have helped train and support colleagues who are new to data entry and analysis;
  • Have helped with data cleaning and data migrations;
  • You’ve built applications and plug-ins to a database.

This is a full-time position based in our headquarters in New York City. All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the USA.
